Hey all,

As you probably know, the Rusty's springs are horrible and I need to do something about it. The entire front end dives when I brake, not just the normal amount, its really bad.

Are the OME927's direct replacement over the Rusty's 2.5in Springs? I'm talking can I pull the old ones out, put the OME's on and call it a day?

Thanks

Ryan

Alright, thanks for the quick reply. Do you think it is a good idea to stop the droop and dipping?

Thanks

Yep,now did you get the complete Rusty's coil lift? or just the coils? You might want to swap in new struts while you are at it,new struts will make a world of difference also,Rancho's are great.

Yea I have the complete Rusty's coil lift. I want to change out the struts eventually but I need something before I go out next week but I don't have the money to do the struts and springs now.

Should I do the struts before the springs?

Thanks again,

Ryan

Save up to do both at the same time so you don't have to pay the same labor twice. It costs the exact same to replace either the coils or struts separately but doing both is also the same cost of just replacing one or the other.

I believe rustys uses OME front shocks so you do not need to replace them if you do not want to.

The 927's should give the same amount of lift as the rustys springs.

Every KJ I see with a Frakenlift seems to sit a lot higher in the front than mine ever did. If I get the Rancho 17505 Struts, the OME927 H/D Front Springs and a 3-ring clevis lift, will it sit at the same height as a Frakenlifted KJ? I know that's what a Frakenlift is, but I read something about them using a different strut plate.

I just don't want to buy the whole front kit for $550 when the struts and springs are only $335.

Thanks again,

Ryan

No, will not have as much lift as a franken lift if you get the OME HD springs and do a clevis lift.

Also, be careful will the clevis lift. If you do too much the stock(if you have them) upper a-arms can hit the spring at full droop.

If you want a franken lift, you would also need to buy the .75in rustys spacers and daystar upper plates. If you do this its still cheaper than buying the front franken lift. If you want to save some $$ just use the OME shocks on the front that you currently have.

Over on LOST there are pictures of mine nose to nose with a KJ and Frankenlift, my set up with over 80,000 miles is the same height as his is ( and mine has sagged some I know)
My set up consists of 4 ring clevis ( no problems with that many for me at least)
RRO top spacer plate , thicker than Rustys top spacer plate
OME HD 927s and Rancho shocks
JBA 4.5 upper arms
It can be done:D

Well now looking at the installs of Frakenlifts, I've decided to just get the pre-assembled Frakenlift for the front so that I can install it myself.

The price of install if I just got the springs and shocks would about even out the price of just getting the pre-assembled ones.

Thanks guys!

You will be surprised how much lift you will have at first with that lift. The front will settle a little over time but at first its high! Some people freak out and think something is wrong, then complain to All J's.
