I come out of the movies Sunday night and am approaching the Jeep when I notice something dangling down at the front. (The front of the JEEP - watch your dirty mind.) Being the paranoid type, I figured someone had been messing with it.

In bright sunlight, it appears to be a breather hose from the front axle area.

This is the end that was hanging down below the front bumper:

The other end is the hose on the left running under the oil filter and it goes to the axle area:

Sooooo... Where is the loose end supposed to be attached?

Not the mountains.
I'm at work so I can't see the pics. The top part of that breather hose hangs on a point that is close to where the battery sits.

It's funny. I did the same thing when lifting mine. Came out to a parking lot to see a hose hanging down. We always forget the little things!

Well, had it been left to me to do the whole job solo there would be a great many things like that.

Thank you for asking Prof! that hose originally sits on one of the studs for the strut but with a spacer plate on the stud is too short to grab that plastic fitting. Mine hasnt fallen down yet but it does fall off the stud and up until now I just keep putting it back there every time I have the hood open. Lol.

Front axle vent- Discontinued part # 52104552AB could call the dealer & see what's up...
Or just check a junk yard, or another type of breather for the 5/16th hose.
