Discussion: Pros/Cons

Bilstein 24-185660 vs Bilstein 24-282659

Thoughts? Applications?

Looking at Bilsteins for Bert Mark 2. No clue what the difference is between these two I see used here on the forums in a KJ rear application.

with 2.5 inches of lift I use the 185660s
And that is what Marlin ( JBA ) also suggested and sent me when the adjustable bilsteins ( compression and rebound ) I had on the rear went south ( well one of them )
We discussed it for a while , as he and I always do LOL
I've put about 60,000 miles on this set so far and doing well
of course you do need bushings on one end

Also the 282659s are for 0 -2 inches of lift
185660s are for 2-4 inches of lift

I see! So my next question is what are these bushings?

As a side note, this is the one place in the universe Mudd makes topics clearer!

They are all clear
Just have to know what to read LOL
But the bushings are just a metal sleeve
big enough to fit over the bolt and small enough to fit into the shock bushing
Someday I need to dig my extras out and mic them

By the way, have you ever been over on Pirate 4X4 ?
Some make comments on my answers, over there mine a G rated and very bland compared to most LOL
You have to wear your full metal gear there most times

Ah, I see.

Nah, I just come here. I get too deep into too many forums and the fear and loathing returns.
