so i had alignment after OME lift but its veering/pulling to the right when steering wheel is straight. the caster is out (2.7 vs 3.3 - 4.somethin) but tech said it should not be the issue. they even rotated the tires in case they were weird.

im also hearing a rhythmic rubbing sound sometimes accompanied with an in sequence chirp/squeak from the front end. chirp/squeak goes away when brake is applied.

any ideas? thoughts?

also... OME lift is very nice ride. i recommend to all.

I bought the lifetime alignments deal through Firestone, and have had it aligned 3 times now over the past 2 years. Each time is has needed minor adjustments, but has always pulled to the right. They keep assuring me that it's not the alignment that is causing it, and it's the tires or something else. My tires have worn evenly so far.

i should probably look into that.

sometimes the steering can be straight and car goes straight but majority of the time the wheel is turned to the left to compensate.
front starts to vibrate around 70 - 80 mph but all 4 tires are balanced.

Mine pulled to the right too. I rotated the fronts at the recommendation of my shop and that did the trick. Your cross caster is 0.1° so I doubt the alignment is causing it to pull.

edit: or what tjkj said

Mine also has a slight pull ever since they got the alignment right.

I originally took mine to Sears (offered 6 month warranty, got it checked 2-3 times) and even though the print out had everything perfectly in spec and it tracked straight(every time), I had a weird noise when turning left that got progressively worse the longer you drove. I ended up replacing both wheel bearings which did not fix the issue. I ended up getting another alignment at a different shop before I put my new tires on and talked to the tech afterwards. I asked if he had any issues, and he said "Yea, I had to heat the passenger tie-rod since it was rusted tight." :pp:

Needless to say, my noise is gone but now I have a slight pull to the right which I will gladly tolerate! :icon_twisted: No abnormal wear on the tire either....

sears refused to do an alignment cause of the lift. its funny, prior to the lift my suspension was sagging and they kept trying to get me to do the alignment.

Sears did one that I lifted but they also left both front wheel lug nuts loose. Not sure why they had the tires off but we didn't get a mile down the road and the owner stopped and said somethings loose, sure enough!!!

thats crazy... good thing they caught it

this places makes ya initial that youll come back and have them re torque after 25 and 500 miles.

i asked them to check the cross camber to which they looked at the print out and said "the cross camber is perfect." theyre going to cross the front tires.

after the tire switch now theres a slight pull to the left and the front vibration at 65+ mph. i give up. should just buy new tires.

just came back from jamaica and wish i had my liberty there to drive through all the crazy roads. was driving a mitsubishi grandis which actaully did pretty well accept when i blew a tire and bent the rim on a pot hole. even on the dirt roads. majority of the SUVs i saw were toyota, honda and bmw.

Give it time, it'll probably come around if you're patient. I was about to throw a bomb at mine until finally I realized it was settling in again or something. Now a little more than a month after it drives pretty good. After your tire gets worn right it may be ok.

I had similar problems after installing my OME's and getting an alignment from Les Schwab. The guy spent more time chastising me for not buying parts though Schwab and having them install them. Kept going on and on about caster kits etc. When I got the Jeep back, it pulled, so I took it back. They cross rotated the front tires, but that didn't help, so they blamed my tires and said there is nothing they can do. My tires weren't great, but it wasn't pulling before I had them mess with it. At tjkj's recommendation I took the Jeep to a mom & pop shop. They had it all afternoon, did several test drives and when I got it back, it was PERFECT! I can't remember the last time it drove so good. They said the alignment was way off and when I said Schwab aligned it, the guy just rolled his eyes.
