Well just turned 99000. In the last 3 days I've had the bearings in the A/C pulley begin rattling, the key sticking in the ignition / gear selector problem, & the left rear caliper lock up. I like the Liberty, but I'm dreading what comes next.

218,000 and haven't replaced any of the above items
Maybe you need to talk to her better:gr_grin:

Lucky bastard. I wish that was all I had wrong with mine.

mine was at 105k. ignition switch went bad, fuel pump went out, and wire clip under hood broke. also tps went bad.

All depends, if you buy used its a weary situation. Like what I've been dealing with since day one of owning mine, so far 3 new window regulators, the fourth has the steiger kit. Two new front bearings, four new wheel speed sensors, one had to be replaced twice, new water pump, new front brakes, new throttle body and its all because I can guarantee the previous owner was ''blissfully unaware'' of a few things. IE put gas in it and go, change the oil when they could remember, and its okay just to pad slap brakes never mind stretching the parking brake so far out of adjustment that it has to be redone with new hardware and possibly I hope not a new cable.

Well the TPMS is now showing a warning. I bought it from a friend after knowing the Liberty for most of its life. It was literally problem free. Thought about trading but my wife really likes it. tommudd- You seem to be one of the fortunate. Where I had the brake fixed there was a guy who loved Libertys and was on a 2nd after nearly 400000 on the 1st one.

150k and none of the above done. Pulley's go bad. It happens. Most of the things you posted can be fixed in one Saturday afternoon...

177,000 (285,000kms) On mine and runs great. However I have recently had the ****** rebuilt and new clutch. New radiator. New brakes, rotors and e brake. Driveshaft's rebuilt. Rear UCA. Wheel bearings. Exhaust and many more parts replaced but it has been wheeled hard.

Most Gremlins, Mavericks, and Vegas would run 100,000. Hell, even most Yugos.

If you stay on top of your vehicle, issues will be a bare BARE minimum. That's what I could never get through peoples heads. You can pay a little now, or A LOT later your choice. Skipping what the manufacturer says to do at this mileage will eventually result in big problems. Then comes the ''My Mechanic'' speech. There's a reason your ''Mechanic'' couldn't diagnose burned out light bulb if you put a gun to his head since you have to tell him what the problem is in the first place before he will ''fix'' the issue.

I would agree that is usually the case, but sometimes maintence will not overcome piss poor design and excessively sheap OEM parts.

You have a valid argument there in some points. Though there are cases where its not the engineers I blame in the matter, its those who assemble the vehicle unless its GM then it is pure shotty engineering.
