2005 4x4 3.7L Manual Transmission: Really dumb question, but is the PART TIME 4WD dash indicator light supposed to be constantly illuminated? 4WD is not engaged, but the light is on.

I'm away from the vehicle (it's my daughter's), so I have not had a chance to actually put it into 4WD to see if anything changes.

Thanks.

No, the transfercase position sensor is bad. You can replace it or let it ride. Go by what position the lever is in.

No problem! It's about a $70 part, there's a how to on here for it. Basically take off the center console and it's there. Some people get it from under but I'd rather work inside. :D

Not the mountains.
I've got the same issue. I found the part for $50. I plan on doing it this weekend. I'm gonna try from underneath first. I'll go center console if I can't get it from underneath.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!

Pulling the center console is actually super easy, then pull the t-case shifter up and over,1 1/2" socket and some extensions, and done in 20mins.

I may actually go that route since I'd actually be able to see the electrical connector instead of feeling for it.

It is real easy to pull it out, plus gives you a chance to clean under it too.
