I don't know if it was a fluke or not, but I just filled up with Exxon regular, and got back on the freeway, and the mileage readout held at 27.9, I was in the right lane, cruising at 66mph. (my foot, not the CC)
Personally I think that's pretty darn good. It even read out 28 mpg when I droped to 63 for the off ramp, but I won't count that. =P~

(In case you're wondering 3.7 Auto - Sport and skids.)

No mods. Under the hood is 100% stock, except for my light wiring. I got it exactly like I said. 38MPH down Jefferson Ave/Lakeshore Dr.... (grosse pointe)... at like 12AM.

There's nobody on that road at that time of night. Nobody to pass, no lane switching, and I got lucky, and had green lights all the way. \:D/

(And yes, I was speeding!)

I did just recently swap the muffler to the new Edelbrock design. And I have the K&N panel filter. That's it. But yeah, Marlon, I was going freeway speeds.

Yeah, I know... it's not a competition or anything.

I just was saying that my EVIC was showing a higher number, that's all. The best I can do on the highway is 24MPG (hand calculated), but that's 2 passengers, and stuff for 3, lol.

If you're getting those figures with a 3.7L, you must be fueling and / or re-setting the trip computer whilst coasting from the top of a five mile long hill with a 7% grade. ](*,)

LOL Sounds like somebody's done that before!...LOL

Yeah I just got 20mpg going to the beach. Cruise set, speeds around 80mph, a/c on the whole time. ABout 19 comin home, slowr speeds and runnin in and out of thunderstorms where I had to slow down. Not complaining from my normal 14mpg around town.

I reset the count when I left the gas station, 5 miles to the freeway, 30 miles to home. When I filled up, I still had 2.5 gallons left in the tank and that mileage computed out at 20.1 with city/traffic/highway driving. Going home was light traffic, I'm running pennzoil syn oil, swapped out muffler and K&N panel filter. Nothing special that we all probably haven't tried. And typically the computer doesn't lie.

Even 2003KJ said he got 20 mpg going 80mph to the beach.
So is it so impossible that I got 27.9 mpg going 66 mph on a cool evening?
