I have a 2007 liberty with an intermittent starting problem.
it usually occurs after its been driven a few miles, but its
been known not to start even backing in and out the driveway.
It cranks fine, but it just wont turn over. Its like its not getting
any gas.

Ive replaced the starter, the fuel pump/filter assembly, cam
shaft position sensor, crank shaft position sensor, and fuel pump
relay switch. Took it back to the dealer no less than 4 times with
this last time they finally said it was the starter. Thats when I had it
replaced (after they fried it trying to get it started). Before then
the dealer said they couldnt duplicate the problem, which they didnt on
the last trip either.

Ive also taken it to a three other local shops multiple times, with one shop
specializing in nothing but Jeeps. Nothing found. Couldnt duplicate the
problem.

Before I replaced the fuel pump, I kept blowing the no.4 coil but this stopped
when it was replaced. The only code showing now is C2102, system voltage low.
Steering column control module. The battery is two years old and tests good.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Its just turned over 100k
and it runs like a new car, when you can get it restarted. Looks great in and out.

Im desperate.

I do not have the Service Manuals and Wiring Diagrams for the 2007 models but going from the 2006 manuals....swap over the ASD relay and are you getting a spark and fuel?
Is the fuel tank clean ie. no gunge in the tank blocking fuel flow sometimes?

You say it cranks fine but does not turn over? These two terms are normally identical...I think you mean that it turns over but does not fire?

Disconnect battery and re-plug the connectors on the PCM/TCM a few times and check that the ground for the PCM/TCM is good.

I see that the 2006 Gasser has a "Sensor-Map" as well as the cam and crank sensors.

This Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor mounted on the intake manifold tells the PCM to adjust things such as the Injector pulse width and spark advance...maybe this is faulty?

Is the SKIS/SKREEM anti theft system not coming into effect ie. you should have a Red LED that comes on after turning the ignition ON...this light should go out after a few seconds. If this LED flashes or is ON all the time then there is a SKIS problem.:icon_confused:

Thanks for the reply!

The Skis/Skreem light goes out after a few seconds. Using my scan tool, I now read a
fault in the steering column control module (C2102, low system voltage). Power is going
to the starter fine and it spins up, but the engine wont start. Its like the fuel is cut off.
Plenty of fuel pressure, battery tests good from PepBoys and AAA. Battery purchased
in Oct 2014.

Ive been in contact with Jeep and they have arranged to have the Libby retested at the dealer
next week. I know its long past warranty and Im not trying to get something for nothing but is driving me nuts...
