We have a 2004 Liberty Limited and are looking for the Chrome trim pieces along the sides. The dealer says I need the VIN from a same year Liberty that has the trim but I would feel like a criminal getting the VIN off a vehicle in a parking lot and who would believe me, "Excuse me, can I get the VIN from your vehicle?", I'd get shot or arrested.
Anyway, If anyone has this trim for sale, or at least a part number, I would really appreciate it! \:D/

Here's what I'm working on...

Lazy dealer

Your dealer doesn't need a VIN to look up the part number. It's easiest to do it with a vin, without one he'd have to manually search through the manual. You can either get a VIN off a listing on eBay, most Jeeps have one listed so you can do a CarFax check.

I've got a parts list for 2005, here's the part numbers I came up with (double check with your dealer to make sure they are correct).

Driver's side front: 55156 947AA
Passenger's side front: 55156 946AA
Driver's side rear: 55156 949AA
Passenger's side rear: 55156 948AA

You can order the from http://www.jparts.com and save 15% off dealer price and get free shipping on orders over $75 (and no sales tax outside Pennsylvania).
