Ok I took the front drive shaft out of a 2002 liberty and did the rebuild on both ends. After doing this it had a little high speed shake. After taking a closer look I found the Detroit axle rebuild kit for the forward portion is 3.990" OD and the old one removed looks like about 3.920" OD. The 6 bolts line up fine it just doesn't seat into the front differencial. I called Detroit Axle and they said all units are the same from 2002 and forward so it should fit. Am I missing something here? Did Jeep have a mid year change or something? I do see a "doman" with a housing OD 3.930", not sure if its different.
