Greetings!

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty with a factory hitch but I cannot locate any trailer hitch wiring. However, under the driver's side rear bumper there is a pig-tail wire connector. When I Googled it said it was a tail light connector. Is this a connector for a trailer hitch or something else? If it is a trailer connector, is there an adapter for it?

the jeeps were all fitted with hitchs during a recall to protect the gas tank from rear impacts

you can get an adapter from curt to get the 4pin wiring out to the tail hitch, be sure not to tow heavy if you don't have a transmission cooler

I used the Curt kit on mine years ago and it was easy. It basically plugs into the taillight and then you plug the taillight wiring into it. I did mine in 2013 and it is still going strong.
