So, I think I got my cold start problem fixed. I got a new battery. The thing fires right up in single-digit weather. If I let it idle for 5 - 10 minutes in the morning, then I have no problems driving to work. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks. But it looks like these are for the 3.7. They don't seem to have the pressure line for the 2.8 CRD. Thanks though :( I did get in touch with Eric (from the other post) and he's going to repair the original line. Thanks for all of the help.

I tried the manual pump when the car died. I don't remember the 'consistency' of the pump, but I'll check it next time. Thanks for the info.

I called my local dealer and they said there's a 'national back order' and they don't know when this OEM part will be available. Cost is $267. No one has as an aftermarket replacement for the high pressure line? I'm going to be dead in the water. thx

Yes actually. I have some additive in the tank to keep it from gelling up. Like I said in the original post, the initial start is OK. It dies when after shifting gears. I did let it warm up for about 15 minutes last time and that worked okay. I'm going to try a new filter/head and see what...

I can hear a 'squish' sound when I press the pump. I can also see fuel coming out from around the seal. I'll check and see if the filter is tight against the head. I assume that if the filter IS tight, the head needs to be replaced?

Nothing is melted. The plug and connector look okay. BUT, when I press the manual pump, I can hear and see diesel leaking from the filter. Does this mean I need a new head or just a new filter? Thanks!

My power steering pressure line burst the other day. I don't know if it was the cold weather or what, but the thing is toast. is there a better than stock pressure line (steel braided) kit out there that won't fail? This thing was such a pain to pull out I'd hate to ever have to do it again...

I have used the primer pump on the filter. That seems to get the car started again. My next step is probably to get a new fuel filter and see if that helps. Where do I get a lift pump for the 2.8 diesel? thx for the help.
