No, it just clips on the bottom. Take the top off and lean it forward and it will come off. I have a 06 and installed the fog lights, which menat I had to take it off. it is easy.

I have the stick on vents (which I like) and I tried that last night, no it does not eliminate the problem. What would be good if those two back side windows in the cargo area were able to be like vent windows. Then one could open them, better yet, powered vent windows!

I live in colorado springs, colorado. I have 20.5 gal tank and the streets are hilly where I live. I have taken the KJ on some flat dirt trails in the mountains, dove with air on in the city, or just windows down. Had not had an opertunity to drive it on the freeway much to figure gas milage...

The water does not look very high (to me at least) to stop the KJ. Even the wangler should not have have had the same problem. but maybe they were going to fast or, at the time, the water flow was fast and created a large wake.

I saw on the national news last night that a wrangle got stock in the water up to the head lights. They showed that just as I said to my wife, the KJ can take the water. She laughed for hours at me when they showed that wrangler in the water. I just told her that, it was not a KJ! lol (whistle)
