    High mileage club

2005 Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD V6 138,000 miles. Had the radiator replaced under warranty, replaced front brake shoes. Have had it aligned three times and am on the third set of tires. It has been a great vehicle!

HOW TO: How to install Mopar Foglights

OK, figured it out. I did not realize that I could shove the whole connector thru the top opening, giving me the needed leverage and view to see what to press to disconnect.

HOW TO: How to install Mopar Foglights

Anyone done this on an '05? I'm stuck on page 4, pics 12 &13 where you separate the big wire connector. I cannot for the life of me get it disconnected. There is a red "lock" on one side that slides to one side or the other. It was pushed in and I pushed it out (it cannot come completely...

    brakes

How did you smooth them out? I bought CarQuest Blue Ceramic pads. There is no discernable pulsating from the front brakes- I think these rotors are tough as nails! This is the first vehicle that my wife has driven that did not wind up with brake pulsation.

HELP! I cannot get the old spark plug out!!!

Used some SeaFoam DeepCreep spray. I was able to get the plugs out. The driver's side rear was the most difficult. Used some anti-seize on the new plugs and torqued them as close as I could given that I was using an extension with my torque wrench. The plugs actually did not look to bad...

HELP! I cannot get the old spark plug out!!!

I purchased AutoLite Double Platinum plugs and was going to replace the original ones. I have over 96,000 miles and I know that is too long too wait. I decided to start with the middle driver's side plug. Pulled the coil and got my socket over the plug with a 12" extension. Attached the...

    brakes

Did you replace your rotors? There's no vibration in the front brakes, just a faint squeal when first applying the brakes. Also the pedal is hard- no mush or anything, but also no "give" like in my other vehicle, maybe because of no ABS? Anyways, the Libby will stop, just takes more pedal...

    brakes

I know the Mopar pads and such are $$$$!, but you have to admit that they last! I have 96,500 miles on our 2005 Libby Sport 4x4 and need to finally replace front brakes! I even went to a Midas last year with 75,000+ miles because the inspection guy at the local gas station said the brakes were...

    Seafoam

Seafoamed the Liberty and it smoked for at least 20 minutes. Did not have a video camera to record. Smoked like that Hyundai video and the Cherokee video. Sucked down a pint of SeaFoam and let the engine sit for 10 minutes. Hard to start, but when it did, boy did it smoke! After it finished...

    Anyone know what this is?!?

Another nice thing- it looks like they replaced the serpentine belt. It is brand new, no cracks or wear. Unless they cleaned it specifically... ;-P

A pleasant surprise.... found the owners manual

When we bought our Libby the OM was in the lower portion of the glovebox. Then a friend's teenage son was checking out the Libby and asked me if I wanted the OM in the space for it...

    Anyone know what this is?!?

Yep, you called it all right! At least when they're done I should not have to worry about the radiator, radiator cap and water pump for a good while!

    Anyone know what this is?!?

He called me back late yesterday and said that they are also replacing the radiator... So, that's the water pump, radiator and radiator cap. Supposed to be completed today.

    Anyone know what this is?!?

Just got off the phone- water pump. Also, he says the original radiator cap is not holding proper pressure. So, $100 deductible for the water pump replacement and $25.00 for a new radiator cap- cap is not under warranty. $25.00 for a radiator cap!?!?!?!?!

    Anyone know what this is?!?

It is at the dealer right now. Had my wife top off the coolant reservoir and put the original cap back on. Spoke to the service tech who said that they see no leak whether the engine is running or not and that the had to add @3qts. of coolant themselves. Said that it could be the head gasket...
