What did you do to your jeep today?

Not today but the weekend just gone. Replaced the Thermostat on our KJ CRD. Now the engine temp gets up to where it needs to be lickity split compared to before. Runs at just a hair below 1/2 way which is spot on. have checked with Torque Pro (when it works) and temps seam to hover around the...

Pictures of 02-04 cut or trimmed bumpers?

I got distracted by what's hanging from the inside rear view mirror for a second or two thinking it was a G-banger. Gota agree tho, bar looks good.

    2nd Battery Install

I usually use this --> Waeco Coolpower and plonk it in the back with all my other stuff. problem with that is it takes up space that could be better used for other stuff. I was thinking that I might be able to fit something more permanent under the passenger seat as there is a fair bit of room...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Finally got around to fitting the Mopar fuel tank skid. Also fitted a 05 V6 airbox lower as I didn't like the way the CRD gets it's air from behind the grill. Simple mods that took me just over an hour and make our little KJ just that little bit more bush worthy Once I'd finished SWMBO asked...

    Skid Plates?

I'm not so sure that is the whole answer. There are a couple of hoses that look to be from the power steering that run under the front of the engine that maybe they thought "I'd be a good idea to protect those" and maybe the weight of the CRD has something to do with it as well, like the extra...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Fitted the Tx plate on the weekend. Easy Peasy to fit although the plate does not come with bolts etc as is kinda shown in the fitting instructions. The bolts and nutzert thingys are a 'you've got to buy them seperately' deal so I simply drilled all the way through the Tx X-member, filled the...

    Skid Plates?

Be interested to know where you got them and what you paid. Pure curiosity as I've just got my Mopar Tx ($120) and fuel tank ($220) skids from our local Jeep dealer and waiting on the Tcase ($95) to come in from the states. As my KJ is a CRD it has the front plate anyway so I didn't have to...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Not today but yesterday- Ordered new Mopar skid plates for the KJ. As it's a CRD it already has the one under the engine so I ordered the Tx, Fuel tank and Tcase ones. Tx and fuel tank should be here in a week as they have to come from the other side of the country and the tcase one will...

Weird Noise From Engine That Goes Away After A Few Seconds

I'm guessing you are asking about the sound like a tuning fork humming (if I had any kind of musical skill I'd be able to say - That's a High G - but I don't so have no idea what note it's playing :icon_razz: ) to me it sounds like something vibrating or perhaps a pump cavitating. I...

    06 CRD/Auto - is a 2nd gear start possible???

Bummer...... Thanks for the info, it's as I thought but good to hear someone else's thoughts. Might have to adapt my driving style to suit which isn't a biggy.

    06 CRD/Auto - is a 2nd gear start possible???

We have a 2006 CRD/Auto KJ Limited (Aus version) that we got about a month or so ago and I've been slowly leaning about the KJ and Jeeps in general (this is my first ever Jeep) I'm wondering if there is any way to make the trans start in 2nd gear at all. There are some situations I've come...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Did a couple of jobs on the KJ today. Fixed the rattle in the rear passenger door. Was a simple fix once I found it. The bolt that hold the rear most vertical window runner to the door was a smidge loose cause the washer to rattle. Easy fix once I found it. Sorted out the door ajar/key in...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Did a bit to the KJ today. First bit of real work apart from an oil/filter change and a clean/reoil of the K&N air filter a week or so ago. Fitted up a headlight booster wiring harness I had sitting in the shed. Probably not really needed as I don't intend to fit higher wattage bulbs but at...

2004 Liberty Hood & Rear Glass Shock Replacement

Did the rear glass on our new (to us) KJ today as SWMBO was getting pissed off at using a broom stick (to hold the glass up ..........) Rang around to get some prices and all were about $95aud Found a ebayer selling brand new struts for aprox $25aud a pair so went with them. Work a treat and so...

    CommandTrac to SelecTrac

Re the selectrac tcase, one thing I noticed being new to the KJ is the shift pattern compared to other Tcases that have the same kind of modes I have a Pajero (Montero in the US) which has a tcase with a shift pattern that goes --> 2H - 4H (4wd high range centre diff unlocked) - 4HLc (4wd high...

    Hello from West Oz

Hey all, I'm a new goober here and have just recently picked up a '06 KJ (CRD and slushbox). It's pretty stock apart from some Ironman suspension the PO put in, some Bridgy D697's in standard size (235/65R17), a pioneer head unit instead of the stock Jeep offering and a set of HID globes in the...

New to forum. Own a 2006 Jeep kj Cherokee

If the dealer can't do it, have you considered something like a Speedo Healer Only thing I don't know is if the speed sender/sensor is on the bus or not, which if it is may make it a no-go or a little more work to get right.
