Everything is stock. The squealing never stops. I'm guessing whatever it is must have it's own power supply otherwise it would stop once I pulled the battery. I have not experienced anything funny. All electronics work.

I pulled battery and it still makes the sound. There are no lights on the dash and the dome lights turn off. It's been squealing since 8am. Does it while driving.

No real reason. Just like the drop down tailgate works better than always having to swing it open. Also more difficult if I would ever have to haul any longer objects where I could just leave the tailgate down. Don't really need the spare tire. Almost all insurance includes roadside service...

Anyone ever consider converting the swing gate on a KJ to a drop down tailgate? I'm sure it's probably not possible, but I would think there would be a way to install two hinges and a catch on the left side so it would work. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

apukareem - I do not know if there was an aftermarket radio installed. I am taking it in on Monday to have the rear regulator repaired. I email Jeep about the window and the radio and they said I should take it in and they will take care of it. How sweet is that?
