I find it really easy to change the oil filter on mine, I just reach down from the top to take it off and pull it out, same thing with putting the new one in do everything from the top.

I know you said you checked the hoses, but in case you were just talking about the rad hoses, I had the hose going to the overflow degrade and start leaking at the radiator side, just some hopeful thinking for you. i just switch with the other overflow hose free fix and simple 1 min job.

I changed my transfer case fluid for the first time today and it looked pretty bad black with a brown tint, and I got less than half a quart out and put about 1.5 quarts back in to fill. How worried should i be about this and what kinda problems could this lead to?

ok thanks for all the info I think i'll be taking back the synthetic and getting some dino this week, it was $70 for the synthetic here and less than half for the standard, with that savings i can upgrade to synthetic motor oil for my next change
