Nfac, like Bill said, I have a friend with a CRD and one mechanic said he had a blown turbo when in fact it was a split in the CAC hose, that's why so many are going to the silicone hoses!
surrounds
Midmo sorry for the late reply, I don't know the answer to the question but simply speakers has a lot of answers. The main concern is not whether premium or not but the diameter of the surround and cleaning the old foam away with a good sharp exacto and getting the new one aligned as...
I know there is a lot of opinions on this and I figure the best way to tow is a complete drive-up trailer. But what about tow dollies. What special requirements or disassemblies are necessary for these. I have never towed a vehicle but am considering a slide in camper for my F350 dually so I...
Sound advice on the brake controller (your trailer must have electric brakes!) and od lockout. I tow this rig in Colo. and Az. and sometimes have a headwind with 7mi.& 7%grades.
74 Ghia, just my thought, when ever there is concern for a motor's condition the first place to start is with a compression check. I have an 05 CRD but I'm sorry I don't have the numbers to give you , maybe someone has good compression specs!
I would like to also add to the above ,,,a less restrictive muffler system. I run a 3" Magnaflow from the cat back and have seen 33mpg from Az. to So. Cal
I almost had the same thing Bill but I got the little critter before he could do any real damage, nibbled on some split loom and I kept finding fragments of blue moving blanket material under the CRD shroud!
And in agreement w/Bill I'd replace those hoses now w/the Samco.Cut loose of the...
Gareth, hello from the States. As most CRD owners will attest a filter can be contaminated with just one fill up if the stations tanks were low and drawing up crud/moisture. A year is not a long time necessarily but it depends how many miles you drove in that year and again if you drew some...
Revray, hard to say with without being there but I might suggest ,if possible, to elevate the rear end with jack stands and put it in gear so you can get a better grip on the matter, maybe something in the caliper?
Mr. Mopar, Like stated, the CRD's are not for the timid or un-inclined. To be truly happy with your CRD you must learn it inside and out. I have used mine for towing a home built trailer for my Polaris Ranger and I think the load must be in excess of 4000#. I'm going to the rock yard scale soon...
Feller, I think it's a matter of driving habit. Too conservative and you foul the system, over aggressive and you'll lose milage at the pump. Got to find a happy medium I think.
Thanks for the responses. It's the 05' CRD and yesterday Advance tried to read it with what looked like a lower caliber Actron. It wasn't specific but did mention the MAF. I'm getting ready to take it on it's 800 mi. one way voyage home to Az. and need a specific reading so I guess I have to...
I just lit up my cel and I'm 99% sure it's the egr again. What scan tools are you guys using? I've never even used one and don't want the Chrysler big buck $$$ job!
Last time I went about 30k miles on the bead blast job. Been doing a lot of heavy low speed inner city towing latly that's why I...
Been using Amsoil Diesel Fuel Modifier in my 3 diesels to keep the fuel stable. Also has properties to prevent gelling. Here's an exerpt from www.ryderfleetproducts.com
