A little off topic, but I am looking for the best all around all terrain tire for my 1960 cj because my 33x10-50 bfg at are wearing out. I already have Firestone destination ats for my lib 265/75/r16s for when the lift gets installed. I am looking for my cj now. I want a tire that will overcome all obstacles. minor rocks, moderate mud, deep, deep snow, ice/slush, sand is another must, and I also want great tread life as well. Any input?

I'm really digging my Terra Grapplers. I run them on my KJ and my LR3...that's how much I like them. :D

Haven't had them in a mud bog yet thought. But in snow and ice, it doesn't get better IMO.

I will look at all possibilities, keep in mind when the weather permits the 60cj comes out of the garage and takes trips from Georgia to pa. I take it to oc md and drive on the beaches of assatigue island.

I've been looking at the Generals, they are top rated for snow and ice on Tire Rack if that's a concern, reasonable price, and they come in 245-70-16 which the Duratracs don't.

Probably pick myself up a set soon.

Had them on my old explorer and now currently on my jeep. Have never used a tire that was better for snow and ice! (Other than dedicated winter tires)

If you really believe that there is a tire that will
give you what you want
Then I have a bridge to sell you
Bottom line like it or not
If it does good on road it will suck off road
If it does good off road it will suck on road
If some one tries to tell you that there is a tire
that does both great
Then they are either lying or have never had a great road tire
Or a great off road tire
I went from Swampers to MTR-K's
The Super Swamper LTB'S are a beast off road
better then the MTR's
But the MTR wins the road battle

Do not get Nitto Terra Grapplers if you enjoy playing in mud but they are an amazing all weather street tire.
I've been interested in trying a treadwright Guard Dog M/T as to me it just looks like an overly aggressive A/T tire that has potential to do pretty well in light mud.

no one has said it, but i like the BFG all terrains.

I used to run BFGs back in the late 70s early 80s when I didn't have the super swampers on.
Had a set on the KJ and had to use 4 wheel drive way too much. Done with them anymore

I am leaning towards the generals or duratracs , I have 33x10.50 bfg ats on my cj now and had them for 7 years and got 55k miles and I did not care for the deep snow traction but they were awesome in the sand and moderate mud IMO.

Again if you think that the BFG at was even ok in the mud
Then you have never owned real MT's
I have made stuff in 2wd that others with AT's could not
make in 4wd

I have had destination mt's on my xj and for an mt I got 44k miles out of them before I sold the truck and there was probably a good 20-25k for the next owner, and on my tj I had destination ats which were better in rain and deep snow.
