I'm hoping someone else here has experienced the same issues as I am now and can help. I just picked up my KJ from shipping (it went from Guam to NJ) and now the stereo won't come on. I noticed it before I left the shipper and pulled the OM to see that it and the power lock switches are on...

Thanks for the help, guys (and gal). You've got me wondering with that sensor talk. How expensive is the sensor and is it something that a novice mechanic (or probably one rung below a novice) can accomplish?

Lately, my oil light has been coming on at random times. It was a little bit low, but I topped it off and it has still come on a couple times since then. I put Royal Purple in it last change and had planned on going about 7,500 miles before changing it again. Is the KJ "smart" enough to be...

All good points. I think I could deal with $18k or so, but that $24,500 figure looks scary. That's almost as much as I'll have in my Rubicon that I've got on order. Granted it won't be on 35's from the factory, but it can be for a few $k more. This is something that I doubt I'll really do...

Ok, here's the deal. I've got a 2009 JK Rubicon on order, but got to thinking. What would it take to put my '02 KJ up on 35's? I could probably get the TJ D44's with Ox lockers for ~$5k +/- a few. Atlas 2spd for ~$2300 or 4spd for ~$3000. I'm assuming I'd need new driveshafts...

Well, this time, since I was doing front/rear diffs, I had 4 quarts of fluid. I just squirted the "top" ~1/3 of 3 bottles into the front and used the rest for the rear. I guess I could've asked the guys at the hobby shop for a pump, but it never crossed my mind. I'm a newbie at this...

I stand corrected, it was Castrol.

Just got done giving my KJ the "royal treatment" earlier today. Changed out the front/rear diffs and engine oil and gave her the Royal Purple stuff. That front diff is a ****** to fill. Any tips for next time? Let me know what you guys do and I'll tell you how I ended up doing it this...

Like I said, just thinking ahead. I've never run larger than 33's and those were boggers on a Ranger. I guess if I get a little less agressive design it probably won't be so bad.

Ok, for now, I'll just have to go with it. I don't even know where I'm gonna be stationed next. All I know is that if I'm in the States, I wanna hit Moab at least while I'm in the States. Hopefully, I'll be somewhere in the West, Midwest, or Southwest and even then the bases I'm likely to be...
