No, it just clips on the bottom. Take the top off and lean it forward and it will come off. I have a 06 and installed the fog lights, which menat I had to take it off. it is easy.

I have the stick on vents (which I like) and I tried that last night, no it does not eliminate the problem. What would be good if those two back side windows in the cargo area were able to be like vent windows. Then one could open them, better yet, powered vent windows!
