The cast iron was the original equipment for the 08, and the stamped clevis came in later years. I expect the stamped version was cheaper to manufacture, and the cast looks stronger to me. When I was looking to replace mine due to swapping to a different lift kit), I went with cast iron. The cast iron cost more at the time as well (a few months ago).

The cost effective way to go for me was to get them from a junkyard seller on eBay. Things were pretty rusty so I soaked them in penetrating oil for a week.

Eventually the bolts turned and I got them off the junk struts.

I buffed off the surface rust and hit them with Rustoleum rust converter paint and they are as good as new.

One more thought. The clevis bolts are shorter for the stamped clevis than the longer bolts for the cast clevis. You may want to go with the style that fits whichever bolt style you currently have.
