Hi everyone!
I'm new on the forum and I'm a happy new owner of a Jeep Cherokee 2 (if I understood correctly this is the European version of the Liberty KJ 2004).
Recently I had a problem with the battery draining out and when starting it with cable, the radio went on one second and dyed afterwards... After that I did not have any more problem with the battery. However fuse are ok and lights still on on the radio (but no clock and no switching on anymore).
I just subscribed to the forum to ask for your advice. I was looking to an aftermarket radio I found on AliExpress from XTRONS (model PSD50WRJL). Seller says the radio is not compatible with original amplifier. Does anyone tried this radio out? Does it means I need to necessarily bypass the original amplifier, or that it is just suggested to do so? If I understood correctly there is one per speaker and that would be too hard to do it myself...

Thank you in advance for your help!

Welcome to the forums.
I moved this to the electronic section for better visibility.
Only a Single DIN will fit perfectly.
With a Double DIN like the one you mentioned in your post, will require some plastic trimming in the jeeps rear housing to make it fit.

My 04 did not have the extra speaker amplifiers, known as the infinity premium sound system.
Still I required a wiring harness to adapt my single din that came from Crutchfield Usa. Also an antenna adapter from them was also needed.
You can tell if there is an amplifier box by removing a inside front door panel.
If the amplifier is present some re-wiring will be necessary and hopefully some other members can help you there.
Just for curiosity sake I am wondering if on a build sheet, if they mention the Premium audio or infinity sound system.
Go to this site an input your 04 Jeeps VIN # and see if the Premium sound system is mentioned.

I ordered a double din head unit form a similar company as Ali Express and spent ages wiring it all in and thinking I must have done something wrong when there was no sound. Turned out to be an issue with the unit itself and not my wiring so I wasted so much time installing a dud! I thought it was something do do with the speaker amps but it wasn't. The company only refunded half the cost of the unit so all in all it was a bit of a disaster.

In the end I went to a local shop and bought a Pioneer unit that worked great and was still a good price. Good luck with your install.

Hello! I'm sorry I missed your message and only read the last reply... I'm sorry about that. Unfortunately using the website you provided me no information is retrieved (maybe because it is an European vehicle??)

Anyway the unit I posted is normally single din and already cut to fit the Jeep but I still did not decide to buy it. After changing the battery the radio seems to start again but it ask for the security code. I'm trying to find the way to input digits above 5 :) I'm really noob on the jeep.
I created a new thread for this.

Thanks again

Ok nevermind I tried it a second time and it works.

It actually does mention in the optionals: 6 Premium Infinity Speakers

The exact model is 2004 JEEP LIBERTY RENEGADE 4X4 SPORT UTILITY 4-DR with a bunch of optionals. I even didn't know about them...

Hi everyone. New member to the site. I have a 2004 Liberty and am looking into replacing the radio with a modern touchscreen version. Has anyone made this change?? What did you put in & what all is needed?? From what I've been able to see, I'll need a aftermarket dashboard insert to fit a flat screen radio.

Thanks for any help you can give.
