Looking at buying one of these car play radios that fit in the stock location. Looking for any input from people that might have one in their vehicle and how it has worked out for them. I currently run a JVC media player that works well and has decent sound output. One spec I have not been able to find in the listings I have looked at is power output for the amplifier section. I don't want to go with a bigger radio than stock as I like the factory look of these units.

Have you by chance looked at any of the offerings from Crutchfield Electronics…..as well as their product reviews?

They’re a great source of information, and great to do business with, too.

Late to this tread but if you or anyone else is looking for a single DIN Apple Carplay and Android Auto radio for their KJ, I just installed this unit and so far, so good.

Power Acoustik CP-71WA Single DIN 6.5" Color Touchscreen Car Stereo with Bluetooth Connected Apple CarPlay + Android Auto

It's a Walmart exclusive radio even though other Power Acoustik radios are widely distributed in the US. Don't know about where you are. I tried a different Chinese radio I liked but I had to return it as the stainless steel looking bezel in my Jeep wouldn't fit over the slightly larger than single DIN screen. Too bad, too cuz it was only $50.

This radio is around $155 and you need an install kit. I bought the complete kit made by Scosche that included the wiring harness, the bezel with brackets, and an AM/FM antenna adaptor all for $20. The Carplay or Android Auto is wireless.

I can't speak to the longevity of the unit, but I'm happy so far.

Here's what it looks like in the car.

That might be a good option as I currently have a single din radio in the Jeep - will have to check if Walmart Canada stocks it

In retrospect having lived with this radio for a while, I might have gone a different route. This radio works well mostly. It will lose CarPlay connection now and then, but the good news is that it will reconnect without any intervention on my part. This is my first CarPlay radio so I don't know if that issue is common to other budget units.

But the biggest issue I have is that it is so small. CarPlay is a distraction when you're driving but even more so when you have to strain to see the screen. My choice before I decided on this radio was this unit from Dual.

It is also a single DIN radio, but the detachable screen is much larger. I was afraid that it would interfere with climate controls or vents, and being cantilevered out, I thought I would get a lot of vibration and squeaks, but I now think that those issues would be a small price to pay for having a screen I can see and a real volume knob.

Do you use CarPlay wireless or wired? If wired does it still disconnect?

Found a wireless Carplay or Android auto head unit from China for my 2007 Libby. I thought it was not going to work...but it is awesome. Also has Nav and backup cam
