I had that problem the first time I flushed and filled. Try removing the top connection of the lower hose and pouring your coolant mix in there until it reaches the top of the hose, then jam it on and secure it. Also: have you loosened up the bleeder up topside?

Also: Also: You are using HOAT coolant, right? (Just checking)

Not sure what’s in it I bought it used. I used the bleeder until nothing but fluid came out. Top connection of lower hose? 2007 Liberty is what I’m working on.

That's a good thing; HOAT is either yellow (Zerex Gold) or orange (Mopar HOAT).

However, it sounds like you need to flush (and reverse flush) your radiator to get the crap out.

Cleaning off the old gasket from the diff took a bit of time. But now to clean off the gasket shavings and reattach the diff cover. In the how to on here, it said to use anti seize on the bolts. The auto parts guy told me not to use anti seize and instead use locktite. I’m not sure which is needed. Does anti seize make it easer for the bolts to back themselves out?

The auto parts guy told me not to use anti seize and instead use locktite. I’m not sure which is needed. Does anti seize make it easer for the bolts to back themselves out?
Anti seize makes it so the bolts don’t corrode or rust on the threads. Lock-tite is not needed IMHO. Never had any rear end bolts back out if you torque them to specs.

No to the Loctite
I remember when guys/girls in auto parts stores could be trusted for real common sense help.
Sadly those days are gone

That makes sense. I will be sure to use anti seize on the bolts.

Wow that's clean! I didn't have that kind of motivation when I did mine.

Mine is a 2007 as well and that's what I had to do. Long, long story, but it was 8F out and I had to get my water pump in. That part went easy. Filled it up with coolant and drove around the block to get the bubbles shaken out. Saw the temp keep climbing (very bad for the 3.7) and killed the engine to coast down the hill home. Got it leveled out and it was still full to the radiator cap. Ran inside, asked some questions here, then was told to do what I suggested earlier. I drained the coolant, popped the top end of the lower hose, then filled the hose straight from the jug. Reattached the hose, filled the rest and tested it.

But, if you're getting coolant bleeding at the top I'd go with what Leeann said - you probably just still have a lot of gunk in there. Chances are that someone used non-HOAT coolant at some point (which is what killed my water pump...) which makes a sandy sludge over time. Flushing it out is like rinsing sand out of a drain pipe - very slow going.

And ironically, the non-HOAT was in mine because when I bought it used I took it out a week later and had the radiator flushed at one of those fast-lube places. The guy swore that what he used was factory-OK. It wasn't.

I bleed the rear brakes today, and checked out a clunk in the passages door. Window is off the track and someone had a pc of 1x4 wood holding the window up. Oh and yesterday I changed to oil. Put in full synthetic. Sticker on the windshield said 22k ,Yicks ! theres 98k now. Oh and I took off the stock muffler and put on a flowmaster super 44. Sounds so much better then stock, I still need to put

Don’t plan on highway driving, just a off road toy.
I’ve removed all the plastic trim, rocker covers , bumpers, fenders getting templates made to fabricate new bumpers.
Any suggestions on where to buy shocks and springs Tom recommends for lifting ?

Recently I removed all the plastic fenders, bumpers, wheel well liners, etc.., I then cut the front fenders Baja style and put them back on. Time to post parts for sale on Craigslist

Where do you recommend getting the shocks and spring for the OME lift .

Light charged, but I wonder if I put one of those tritium tubes in the fob if it wouldn't self illuminate.....

I admit I did use a tripod with a longer exposure to get the glowing shot to show up as well as it did.
