Even better the front sway bar bolts are seized
I’ve burnt my impact wrench battery three times, bent a breaker bar and almost yanked the Jeep off the axle stands and it won’t move a bit just spins in place

Not my day

It’s not going well...
Any idea how to get the bushing out of the top of the Bilstein to get the new adapter in? I’ve tried a C clamp
You're trying to do what ??
the new " Bushing" just slides right into stock bushing

Unfortunately it really doesn’t, maybe I’ve been unlucky but the metal sleeve in the bushing on these Bilsteins is stuck like the rubber was molded onto it, won’t budge at all.

You do not remove the metal sleeve, you are doing the wrong end I'd say. One end with the metal sleeve stays, other end always gets the bushing

Both ends have metal sleeves already, the Bilstein adapter kit from JBA just looks to have a longer metal sleeve... maybe I can just throw washers on the outside of the sleeve like it says to do for the bottom?

Weird, I ordered the 03 Dakota Club Cab shocks but seem to have a different set up than most...

Spent a full day trying to get the coils onto the Bilstein shock absorbers I’ve bought two sets of spring compressors and both are too big to come out of the coils when the top nut, washer and plate are on...

Am I going crazy? Two days for what should be a simple(ish) task... is this normal?

Done close to 60 KJ lifts, my head is not worth using those junk a** compressors.
Take them to a good shop and let them do it

and 99004 Dakota 4X$ club cab rear shocks ?
What series Bisteins, have installed a ton of them and never seen sleeves in both ends

Front:
Heading to a shop tomorrow to get them installed, hopefully once the coil over is sorted I can muscle them in fairly quickly.

Glad I got the terraflex bump stops, the stock ones were seriously torn up, almost a triangle they’ve taken some beating. Stock suspension on this I think must have been completely shot.

Rear:
Bilstein 4600
24-185240
2003 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4x4 - or at least these are the ones that come up...

Length looks similar to the stock and holes are right size for the bolts I think I’m just going to stick washers either side so they don’t clunk around.

I run the 5100 series on rear of my 03 now 24-185660 with 2.5 inches of lift

This one says compatible with a YJ, does that sound right? I’ll get them ordered now and return the others if it is.

2948 are the exact same thing, just means two in a box is all
Stay away, totally away from Rocky Road
clevis lift stay at 3/8 inch, nothing needed just measure and tighten to required specs, or use 3 , 2 inch conduit nuts for measuring purposes
front bumpstops use Teraflex ones made for the KJ
rear use two hockey pucks per side bolted down to the lower spring perch
Frankenlift will give you waty over 3 inches and requires the jeepinbyal upper control arms as well

Not hard to figure out, all has been mentioned 1000s of times here and on LOSTJEEPs over the years

Why 3 inch ?? Just curious is all 927/948 combo gives you 2.5 inches of lift what is so special about 3 ??
and this comes from the guy who ran 4.5 inches for years on a daily driver LOL

front shocks the same as stock, bilsteins are good shocks
rear are Dodge Dakota CLUBCAB 4x4, has to be for a club cab 99-04

I've installed a ton of bilsteins over the years on KJs ride and handling are good

Looking through the threads here, all of the front strut (shocks) seem the same size, even if you go to the OME / Bilstein setup. If that's true (and please correct me if I'm wrong), what exactly gives any lift to the front of the jeep? I understand that putting longer shocks and springs in the rear does that, but it looks like the recommended front setup is exactly the same dimensions as stock? What makes it sit higher?

I can vouch for this method having finished it Saturday. The Jeep looks great and I’ve got easily 3” over the worn out wobbly stock suspension.

Springs give lift not shocks, plus how the front IFS is, longer shocks are not needed , just longer for the rear

You can go higher, doesn't take much to go 3 inches of lift over NEW STOCK height

I’m happy to do a parts list in the morning when I’m at my PC also I will I share lessons learned which are rookie mistakes I made but maybe help someone. I got all my parts and info off this site though like Tom says

Its been posted just recently
BUT here you go
OME springs 927 front, 948 rear
teraflex front bump stops
rear 99-02 Dakota CLUBCAB 4x4 shocks
use Bilstein shocks ( www.shockwarehouse )
stocks are stock bilstein
also 2 hockey pucks per side bolted down to the lower spring perch, 3/8 inch bolt, 2.25 inches long with lock washer and nut of course to hold them in
