Really? Huh would've thought ya'll would be running with platts...

Simple cheaper copper cores huh?

Why not the Platts? I searched the forum and thought those along with the Bocsh are what the majority are using / saying works best for them

Why not the Platts? I searched the forum and thought those along with the Bocsh are what the majority are using / saying works best for them

Plats simply do not work in the 3.7 at all, less power, missing etc
When I bought my 03 it was used, always used NGKs in the 04 since new, but anyways the 03 was running rough, would not idle right etc. I pulled a plug seen it had plats in it, so next day used that as one of the bargaining chips to get the price down. Next day bought it over 2000 less,( few other things wrong as well I had parts waiting for) than what they wanted , 10 minutes later new NGKs in it and ran great

Diffs run plain old dino

I use Zerex G-05. NAPA and Pepboys has it around me. I think Advance Auto does now too.

Now for the Rear and Front Diff's I'm a little confused. I got the build sheet from my dealer (using my vin) it shows this Libby has Dana 30/186mm Front axle and 3.73 Rear Axle.

When I look up my vehicle by year, make, and model on my AMS OIL webpage it lists the following;

Differential, Rear W/ 8.25 RBI W/ TT......GL-5
All TEMPS......75W-140 [3]
Severe Gear® 75W-140 (SVOPK)

Differential, Rear W/ 8.25 RBI W/O TT......GL-5
All TEMPS......75W-90
Severe Gear® 75W-90 (SVGPK)
75W-90 Long Life Synthetic Gear Lube (FGRQT)
Severe Gear® 75W-110 (SVTQT)

Differential, Front......GL-5
All TEMPS......80W-90 [4]
SAE 80W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube (AGLQT)
Severe Gear® 75W-90 (SVGPK)
Severe Gear® 75W-110 (SVTQT)


[3] Synthetic oil is required.
[4] Synthetic based oil.

What is with TT or without TT?
And -
Which SHOULD I be using:
75w-140, 75w-90, or 75w-110 in the rear?
And
80w-90, 75w-90, or 75w-110 in the front?
*** Just an FYI, I plan on doing driveway plowing with the truck

TT is the cheap sort of kind of locker :icon_razz:
Do not use synthetic use Dino
75-140 or so all around is what I use , again regular old dino, sticks to the gears better. Jeep says synthetic just to try and get 1/1000 more gain in mileage

I use 80w-90 in every vehicle I have that requires gear oil. That's the KJ, my 4x4 Ranger and a 2001 Outback. Always dino and always the cheap stuff. I don't have an LSD in any of them.

I'm guessing TT means the Tracloc LSD?

Heavier weight for 4x4ing, pushing snow, towing a trailer etc
Thats why I run heavier all the time

TT= trash loc ( or trac loc ) but they are not that good and it would say on your build sheet
