With my old rack, the bushings were seized into the rack. Couldn't get them out, not that it mattered since I was replacing the whole thing anyway.

It's worth trying to take just the bushings out, still beats replacing the rack. Although if the rack is leaking or displaying other symptoms of failure (clunking), probably wise to just replace it.

yeah a little weeping so I figured why not

also jeep decided to start vibrating bad under acceleration today, had to pull over and catch a ride to work....hopefully its just a ujoint, never ends with this damn thing

Update on the tree incident. Insurance said they will most likely total the Jeep because the repairs are going to exceed 80% of the Jeeps value. If they do I'm just going to buy it back from them because I don't care about a salvaged titled.

Did the claim online and used the app to send in photos videos. Got a call they want to come see it in person. Now waiting for the adjuster to call to set up a time to look at it.

what all is the damage on it again?
The hood took the brunt of it and is smashed in. The pass fender is dented/moved so the passenger door clips it when opening/closing. Dent in the roof. Bent light bar bracket. Broken winch control box. Scratches in the paint.

My guess is they see the door/fender and because it's a unit body that's a red flag.

Ill take pics tomorrow since my gf who drives it took it to work today and won't be home til after dark.

The adjuster called and said they will come Friday to inspect it. He said if they total it I can keep it and they'll just cut me a check.

The XJ has a small dent in the tailgate and I had to replace the drivers side tail light. Got it for $35 on Amazon.

I've attached the pics from when it happened for those that missed the post.

yea they're probably worried about the structure having moved, but it most likely didn't. I've had multiple fenders on my Shadow for that reason; some ****** hits it and the slightest change of position has it rubbing the door. you either pound it back into place, adjust it through the fender bolts, or just replace it and it's fine. There's a reason the holes in the fender are ovals :D

x2. Had to put a new fender on my WK after it had an incident with the garage door frame, it got slightly mis aligned (didn't hit the door but was pushing on the bumper and the gaps were messed up all the way around), new fender fixed it. I just left the bolts slightly loose and used a digital caliper to measure the other side and used those measurements to align it. Turned out great.

Replaced the lower arms in the rear. Didn’t mind having to lift up on the muffler to get the one bolt out but that sway bar... I hate it.
I don’t see what it’s purpose it since it’s not attached to anything ?
Those bolts were rotted in there. My air tools are too big to fit on the one set closest to the bushing. I spent more time removing and installing those then anything else lol

Decided to wait on the boomerang. I need larger jack stands for the body.

I removed my rear sway bar. Flexes more offroad and don't even notice it on road.

Mine is gone as well. Haven't missed it.

It was removed on the advice of two notable members here (who actually are the ones who yanked it), so this is not a crazy idea at all.

My tip would be: don't do it like I did, mine are crooked...

Well, only one side is and I'm probably the only one that can tell, but I can tell :favorites68:
