How much weight can the rear swing gate hold without damaging the hinges? I don't have a spare tire mounted there at the moment and I was looking to either mount one or two jerry cans that I just got to the swing gate. This would weigh somewhere around 60lbs if I were to mount both of them. Thanks in advance!

50 pounds . Too much weight by the time you figure in weight of the cans, each gallon of gas is 6.183 per gallon so looking at 65-66 pounds total

But then if you are talking regular NATO type cans , they hold 20 Litre's .
A litre of gas weighs in at 3.78541 so times 20 would be 74.7082 per can .Of course this is figured using " Old Arithmetic " not the new fangled math so.......
Was it a can like I have ?

They are the old type jerry cans that hold 5 gallons each and have the screw in spouts. They are not the NATO cans.

From experience I know when I went up to 265-75-16s on the Moabs I started getting lots of squeaks and rattles from the door. Got the tire carrier on the RL bumper and it all went away.

So then overtime with 60-65 pounds on the swing gate is going to eventually wear out the hinges?
