valve cover swap?

I have a 2005 liberty with plastic valve covers. can i use metal valve covers from a 2002? thanks

04 started with them I think or could of been later 03s

Having owned our first for all of 11 months, no I haven't! :)

I'm obviously out of touch with what's going on in automotive technology as I didn't know that anyone was doing plastic valve covers (our newest vehicles are a 2005 Thunderbird and a 2004 Mazda 6s) although I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

thanks for the info. I have a chance to take parts off a 2002 liberty free, so i will grab the valve covers too!

Been around for awhile now.. my mustang is 20 years old running plastic valve covers....

Did really well, well at least the last time I saw it

Good to know, might try out this route when I take my covers off to get out my broken bolt lol
Thought about painting them when I did my gaskets, but did the sides a couple weeks apart so decided not to lol
But hey might be worth it for the little extra aesthetic appeal.
Although my engine bay is clean, it doesn't stay nearly as clean as Tims or Johns.. :emotions34:

My '04's covers are definitely some sort of black metal. What do the plastic ones look like? Guess I've never looked under the hood of an 05.
