So I have had a lot of trouble with my 02' jeep liberty and so I looked up what it could be and it told me to check certain things. So I checked the spark plugs and the coils and replaced them then I replaced my cam and crankshaft sensors now my thought before the dreaded fuel pump removal was to check the cat and I was wondering if someone could kind of guide me on how to get the cat's out from what location and what they should look like being in good condition or bad. Can someone please help?

So removing the down pipe cats on a 02 is a beast without removing the engine. You could possibly just open them up at the Y-pipe flange and scope them. Not sure how much that would help though.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
1st need to know what the issue is.

Beside the "rattle/tap" test looking at them(inside or out) is useless and the "rattle/tap" test is for severely damaged cats only and is rather rare on the newer style OBDII cats.

The problem is that the engine sounds like it is being starved and I don't know if my fuel pumps are bad but I tested the pressure and it was 49 idle and 53 running so it didn't seem like that could be the problem but I am open to ideas. Whenever I try to drive the car it starts up just fine 95% of the time now but when I try to get it up my drive ways exit incline it stalls out and dies.

You can't.

Pull both upstream O2 sensors(total pain in the rear by the way on a '02 with the 3.7) and then drive,if problem goes away you have plugged cats.Short trip only, will be very loud, and will cause the MIL to come on.
