Glad you got it done!

If you're like most of us you'll replay the install in your head in the coming days and realize some of the tricks/tips that would make it go smoother. Most folks who do it a second or third time are shocked at how quickly they're able to get it done - usually in just a couple of hours :waytogo:

When you go for the alignment just drive slowly - it will be really squirrelly for sure.

take it for a drive and see how bad it is. Mine was squirrely and my tires squealed going over 40kmh so i didnt drive it to work until i got it aligned. it was chewing up the tires really bad and heating them up too.

That's how most things like this go from my experience
Some things are very frustrating and you want to just say :favorites68: it
But the end result outweighs the anger and yelling
I'll post some pictures here soon !

Also, I don't plan to drive it at all until tomorrow when I take it to get the alignment (it's only about 2 1/2 miles away) so I guess I shouldn't be too worried
All I can say is THANK YOU to everybody that has ever posted something about lifts on here because I seriously could not have done it without you all

I finally got it back on with a little prying
The lift is done and I couldn't be happier (of the end result and to be done with installing it !)
I wanted to enjoy doing it but having to go out and buy a couple more tools to do the job and stuff not lining up right just frustrated me to no end
But, it's done and it definitely looks good ! Just need bigger tires down the road
Going to try and get an alignment today if not tomorrow
The front drivers side tire is bowed out at the bottom
But all the others look straight.. Is this normal? I know the alignment will fix it but I was just worried about driving it being like that

Yes the tires will be at an angle ( bottoms in ) until the alignment
It will also drop the front down about 1/2 inch or so when you get the alignment done
be careful driving until then

Glad you got it done !!!!!!

I'm like that with painting. I do a good job, but I don't have to do it very often. Just about the time I feel like I'm really getting the hang of it I am done.

The passenger looks straight and the driver has the bottom angled OUT away from the truck, not in
I thought they would both be angled bottoms in but they aren't
Maybe I should jack up the front again and loosen/re-tighten lugs?
They were all abled to be torqued so I wouldn't think it would be that but who knows

If you get any noises from the front it will be the one on the top or right side of the picture that may give you some jingles later
Yes check the tires, had a helper while were doing his not get the wheel on right, I didn't double check him, well more work was involved LOL

Never mind Tom,
I understand what you're saying now
The guy at the shop said the stock washer that's on the top of the coilover is stronger than the one that came with the shocks
Not sure why that would be but I guess we'll see

I'll take more after the alignment gets done (hopefully it goes good)
I'm very happy with the results

Now I think I just have a couple last questions..
Do you really even need the rear sway bar? It didn't look like it did much but I don't see why it would be there from the factory if you didn't need it
And also, how should I expect the alignment to go without Al's a-arms?
I've seen some get into almost exact spec but some not getting it far off of spec or way out of spec.. so it's just a wait and see type thing?

I removed and left off my rear sway bar. I did notice the rear of the Jeep was more squishy (side sway) when going down the road and cutting the steering wheel to the left and right. What was causing that though was my upper control arm was shot. Why the sway bar being off accentuated the worn arm makes no sense to me, but it did. Only thing I can really see the sway bar doing, is connecting the lower arms together to perhaps help limit bushing sway at the front of the lower control arms.

So I wonder if I should put it back on then..
I left it off for now but obviously can easily put it back on
I wonder what others have experienced with it off

I still have mine off, and it handles fine now. Leave it off and give it a road test.
I guess Chrysler must have had a lot of these bars laying around, and stuck them on the backs of our Jeeps just to get rid of them. :happy175:

The rear sway bar is a waste IMO. It only attaches to the control arms and not to the body - so what is it controlling...? Nothing is the answer.

You can also "castrate" your KJ by removing the heavy weight attached to the rear differential. I suppose it was on there cuz some engineer thought it would help phantom vibrations. I use mine to prop open the garage door...

That's what I was thinking
I wondered what that thing was back there it looked like some type of roller or something
I probably won't worry about that, anyhow I'm glad I don't have to put the sway bar back on

Also, for whoever was wondering (if there is anyone) about my measurements

Before lift:
Drivers Front- 18 3/4"
Drivers Rear- 18 1/4"
Passenger Front- 18 1/2"
Passenger Rear- 19"

After lift (before alignment):
Driver/Passenger Front- 22 3/4"
Driver/Passenger Rear- 22 1/2"

So after alignment I should be about even on all 4

Sitting tall did you use a top plate or clevis lift at all. How much driving have you done since the install.
