Drove my best friend to the airport (she was here for the wedding) in absolutely torrential bloody downpours.

We've gotten about 3¼ inches in less than 48 hours and could get that much more before it ends tomorrow evening.

I like those gas cans. Where did you get them? Do they come in red?

Congrats Leeann!
I've purchased them on eBay and one other place. They aren't cheap, but they are the best can out there for fuel other than maybe the RotoPax (which are even MORE expensive, and smaller capacity!). They do come in Red, but they are not cheap. I was lucky to find mine for the price I paid. :)

Other than eBay, JAGMTE.COM is probably the best source for NEW Scepter cans and accessories.

Drove my Jeep in 99* weather, to the Doctor yesterday, and the check engine light came on. I have to take it to autozone and have them check the code for me. Crimeny! Does it ever end? The temp was below half on the gage and the engine sounds fine. No missing or knocking or nothing.

You can pull the codes yourself using the "key trick."

Put the key in the ignition, turn it to the Run position, Off, Run, Off, then Run and leave it. Look at the odometer and the CEL codes will show there starting with the letter "P" with the newest code listed first. When all codes are displayed it will say "Done."

Then look at the Generic Trouble Codes sticky here in the General section and determine what the code is pointing to.

I had no idea. That's awesome! I never read that on this or any other site about it. I almost bought a code scanner today too. Glad I didn't. I did go to Autozone on my lunch hour and had them scan it. Found it pointed to the gas cap. I opened the fuel door and touched the gas cap and it fell out. We can't put gas in our own cars here in OR. It is against the law. Every station is full service. The last guy who put gas in didn't tighten the cap right or whatever. I put the cap on correctly and drove home. Later after work I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes to reset the code and then drove it for about 40 miles. No more codes. Then I drove it again another 40 miles, still no codes, and it is running better too. Weird! Just because the gas cap was loose. I give up! :emotions133:

I bought one of these a couple months ago and have used it on my Jeep and a friends Toyota Camry. It's even $5 cheaper now than what I paid. Nice thing is it clears the codes for you.

Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool for OBDII Vehicles

For some reason I could never get the key on/off thing to work. I'm a spaz, though, which may have something to do with it. :icon_neutral:

Yep...the Mopar key dance. Works on pretty much every Mopar product since the late or even mid 80's if I recall...not including the imported stuff... :)

Did a few things:

Started with a detail then moved on to my project sheet.

This is her at the beginning.

Had the front two windows tinted, Installed window in-channel vents, rear window lifts and then Plasti-dipped the rims.

At the end of the day.

For the most part everything went off without a hitch by following this video.

PlastiDip on Rims - New Brake Masking System! - YouTube

The only pain was the over-spray on the tires. It should have peeled off easily and partly did (the inch space part closest to the rim up to ribbed area) however, the ribbed area of the Wrangler tires posed the issue.

Plasti-dip does not want to easily come out of those grooves (in focus area). For the most part this is unnoticeable to those not looking for it and my advice would be to at least tape that ribbed area off.

All in all a good transformation. The only hiccup was that later that day my emergency break crumbled inside the drum. $190 (parts and labor) later and as good as new.

Next projects:
1) Center console light
2) Rear deck lid

Changed the oil & filter, then replaced the belt & tensioner. The belt looked pretty good but had stretched a lot. The tensioner pulley bearings were pretty gritty and exposure to MI salt had corroded it pretty badly. Old belt's in the toolbag as a spare (that saved my butt once and I've kept a spare on purpose ever since).

Oh, and ordered new front lower control arm cam bolts & nuts and the nutserts for my skid plates.

The key trick does not work on every year and only displays generic "P" codes only.

I drove through Oregon once and about beat the attendant with a 4' prybar since he would not put premium in my KJ,I pumped my own damn gas.
