.... It is an 07 Liberty, I was changing the oil when I saw this cast iron support was broken, I have attached a side and bottom view of the part.

I would like to know what that part is called, someone told me it might be called front differential support mount, but I cannot get any hits when I google it.

If anyone can help me with the correct term, I would really appreciate it.

It is on the passenger side in the front. Thanks

Thats the part that holds your front diff partially in place and aligned to the CV shafts.

Might try and find one from a junk yard, should be same 02- 07. Not sure if you need to drop the diff, first one i've seen broken.

Weird because the car is only used in the city. Rarely on the highway and never in any type of off road situation

Doesn't matter sometimes the "only driven in the city " are worse suspension wise etc than off road, hitting a curb/pothole/RR tracks just the right way will break something

It's cast steel not aluminum. Aluminum wouldn't hold up in a speed bump

Mmmm, pretty sure that's cast aluminum just like the differential itself. On the '02 thru '06 model that part is steel - guess since yours is a "transition year" model you got a component used in the newer edition KK Liberty.

Guys, can that be replaced by the corresponding part from an '02 thru '06 to avoid the issue happening again? Or does it have to be replaced with the same part from an '07 or a KK?
