I've got a '03 renegade with Tupperware still on roof. (Junk) everything I look at is honestly more than I'd like to spend. The Yakima basket I found isn't to bad at almost 3hun before tax, but then another 2hun before tax for ugly cross bars. Any ideas, links, input would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

There's a bunch of threads on here about people making their own crossbars, baskets etc. if you search you should find a lot and be able to save yourself some money.

Relatively inexpensive roof rack that I have from DiscountRamps.com. It's more than just for looks too - I've used it to haul crap from here in IL out to Colorado, Utah, and Montana. It's perfect for my needs:

No, the crossbars are the $30 DIY bars - you can find a 'how to' thread on LOST Jeeps... similar to the ones that are here on JKJC. I like the set up... it's very functional.

We've been to Montana a few times now - lots of time spent in the Glacier National Park area... Polebridge, Whitefish, Hungry Horse. Spent some time in Big Sky also.

The last time we went, we did a tour of Montana... essentially hopped off the interstate at Glendive, drove state highways, local roads and forest service trails to Glacier NP, south to Anaconda, through Yellowstone, and then drove the Beartooth Highway. We took about 10 days for the whole trip, camped the whole time, and had a really great time. (cool)

Well I got myself set up. Bought a basket from sportrack and thought I'd use the crossbars that came with the Tupperware from factory. (Very weak and useless) so I bought the sportrack cross rails, which were very long.... Stick out 6-8" past KJ roof rack. At 1st I hated it but then found that after basket is full I could tie stuff on outside of basket too. (Handy :) ) So is have to say I love this set up!!!!!

It almost looks like you could cut the cross rails down a bit (if you didn't like them at the current length) and re-use the end caps.

Nice job!
