This should get some odd looks.. I meant to say fog lights in the title -____-

Hey all, I am going to build a custom bumper and go for custom flares as well. I have seen some guys make the turn signal where the fogs are (I have an 06 limited). I basically want to remove the markers on on the bottom of the bumper completely and move the turn signals to the fogs, making it possible to remove the factory bumper completely. My question, after doing countless searches on various forums, is how to do this? Also, where do the wires for the fogs and marker lights go or can they just be taken off? Basically want to do this (scroll down a bit):

Btw, don't think I ever showed anyone my kj...

Talked to a friend that has an '06 KJ and swapped her bumper for a TJ bumper. She said all she did was bore out the back of the housings so that the signal bulbs can fit in the fog housing/lenses, then pull the signal harnesses over to the fog holes.

Seems to be the easiest/cheapest way for it to be done without some major wiring changes.

That is exactly what I am doing! I am putting on a tj bumper after all this.. What did she do with the wires from the actual fog lights and the corner lights from the bumper?

BugginsKJ over in LOSTJEEPS did this a few years back, ( installed turns in the fog light area of his 07 ) Used LEDs looks great added small LEDs to the side for the side lights
Of course he used a steel bumper of his design not a old TJ bumper that :beatdeadhorse5:

That bumper of his doesnt look sturdy at all I could probably rip it off with my bare hands or even if I sat on it

That may have been what I saw that inspired me.. I am shameful to say I didn't save it and wan't able to find it again. Was it a red kj? And would you happen to have a link? I am not a member there yet so I can't search

I like the unfinished look of a long tj bumper, I do not know why others frown upon it as much?

And Blue, if you mean my bumper you would be right.. I cracked a bunch of clips on the driver side front flare and half of the bumper when I side swiped a tree last sunday while I was playing in Monarch.

I'm one who likes a clean looking modification, so the TJ thing wouldn't be for me. But if you dig it, do it! :) If you build to please yourself, it doesn't make much difference what others say. You aren't building for them.

I agree, it isn't for everyone. But the whole point of custom is to tailor it to the customer. That's how I see it..

Bruce I wish I was allowed to grow a beard. It would help insulate us when posted out in the frigid Montana winters. But I don't have enough stripes to argue that point.. :hahano:

I joined LOSTJEEPS but haven't found the thread by BugginsKJ.. Anyone got a link?
