Hazard lights flash when right turn signal is flashing

When I turn on my right turn signal the rear hazard lights also flash.
The front hazard lights do not flash with the right turn signal on.
The left turn signal works normally.
All the hazard lights work normally when the hazard light switch is pushed on.
2006 Jeep Liberty, 3.7 engine

Sounds like a bad earth to the light unit.

Does anyone know where the tail lights are grounded? Can’t find a common ground for the lights.

Is there a trailer harness installed? Those can cause strange problems if they short out

I found the issue. There was a little black control box for the trailer wiring harness that was bad. Made by Draw-Tite. I removed it and the trailer harness and everything works as it should. The box was located in the rear cargo floor area under the plastic trim piece running left to right at the rear cargo door.
