Rear brake backing plates

So the rivets that attach my backing plates to the caliper mounts have rusted off. Consequently, they move and rub while driving. Either the actual plate on the rotor, or the parking shoe on the drum surface. Not 100% sure which.

Anyway, the plates are actually warped a bit too. I am guessing someone tried to bend them to keep them from rubbing.

I am going to pull the axles and re-rivet the plates, however, I would like to use new backing plates while I am at it. The problem is I can't find replacements anywhere. Anyone have any ideas before I search wrecking yards? Anyone want to sell me theirs that they pulled?

The only way to get new backing plates is to buy whole new plates with the complete parking brake assembly mounted already from the dealership,not cheap either.

Can you re-rivit the backing plates with the axles in place? Yes but will take forever and pulling the axles takes a few mins and onlys costs you some RTV and 2qts of gear oil.

Just had the backing plates replaced on mine by dealer. I also had them do brake pads and rotors and the bill came to 700 bucks. Only problem they had was that they forgot to refill differential after pulling axle and I got about a mile or so and heard a big clunk and they ended up rebuilding my rear end.

Real good mechanic that dealership has there!
I'd inspect the other repairs and make sure they
were done correctly.
