Well it all started when I went looking for inexpensive ATF+4 fluid and turned the internet on, since I could not find the Penzoil ATF+4 at Wallmart here in Van.
I guess I have to still phone around to other suppliers to get some.
Anyways, I came across this older post about ATF+4 and complaint filed about Chrysler protectionism re their new fluid for transmissions/transfer case.
http://www.dodgedakotas.com/boards/gen/14827.html
I suppose from this read Amsoil (without the warranty issue) may be ok, but how come Penzoil is actually making the ATF+4 but no one else is? Maybe it is not protected now?
Is there now any other manufactures of ATF+4 fluid around?

Why does that not surprise me? But I bet it comes with a 1million miles warranty>..LOL!
Thanks HoosierJeeper for the edit/Link! Awesome. Just printed out for future reference going in My KJ service book.
That will make it easy to find some.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Just spent the last 8 hours with the regional Kendall and QMI reps for training.I asked about ATF+4(among others, and yes Amsoil),both of there responses were use what the manufacture recommends even if there products are not being used, they both laughed at the Amsoil and said good luck with anyone trying to take them up on there warranty claims.

on here
Wall Mart has it too in their SuperTech brand and it is on that link/list HJ put up. Wall Mart also sells the Mopar brand ATF+4 and it is around $4.89 or so a quart as I have bought it there. I think I remember seeing the Valvoline version at Advance Auto.

The price of it came down a lot when everyone was licenced to make it.

Thanks to All!!
I was not tying to find cheap ATF+4 I was just trying to find any other than at the dealer$.
Here in Canada, we are really limited to many automotive products, have no Pep Boy's, Advance Auto etc. It is Canadian Tire or Princess Auto etc and smaller independents to get the US products up here.
TjkJ, ya I was not going to use the Amsoil universal. Go with the manufacturer recommended makes complete sense, just so glad I now have the list Thanks to HJ!
I will get some somewhere....

At the local Wal-Mart here i can get ATF+4 in Valvoline, SuperTech, and Mopar..

I usually buy the SuperTech. Why? Cause its cheaper and i have used their products for years no problem. And its on the list so why not. If they are out of that i buy Valvoline. The Mopar stuff is just too much to justify.

Hey TC, check the centerforqa list, you'll see that MotoMaster ATF+4 is good to go as well as the Mobil Super ATF+4 that Canadian Tire carries. Man, some of the dudes on here should pay attention. We're in CANADA folks, we don't get S*** up here.

I've had good luck with the NAPA brand ATF+4, and at $4.19 a quart its not too pricey. Plus if you have AAA you get an additional 7% off. In general I like NAPA because they have had the same bunch of guys working there for at least the past 10 years and they know their products well.

I got some ATF+4 at advanced autoparts to top off my ****** and power stearing fluid. It's nice and cheap. I wouldn't use it for more than a top off tho

In answer to your question libertyTC, I work for Napa here in canada, and since you are in B.C. and probably don't like the hassle of crossing the border you can get Quaker State ATF+4 at Napa. Maybe a little more expensive but saves some hassles.

I'm surprised they don't carry the NAPA brand in Canada...

What's the difference between the Super ATF+4, and Mobil's ordinary ATF+4?
Well I know that Mobil Super ATF+4 is a Canada only product and Mobil ATF+4 is a USA only product. Just a different name scheme?
