RRO A arms after install

SO I finished my lift install last night, but have a question. After everything is back together, the upper A arms (I added the RRO ones) seem to rub on the tire while turning, and when parked and the wheels straight, there is only about 1/2 inch between the a arm and the tire on both sides.

is this something that will be addressed in alignment or as the lift settles?

Let me say that installing the A arms was not easy - the new ones did not just slide in as easy as the stock arms do, almost like they were too small - I really had to beat on them to get them in the pockets, and then after they were in getting the bolt holes to line up was NOT FUN....

I have 245/75/16s the upper ball joint is pretty close to the tire,has not rubbed,just close.

i have 265/75 and with JBA 4.5s i almost cut a slit in my sidewall. drove home after installing the arms not knowing it was rubbing.. have to use 1.5" spacers to keep them off.

do you have any type of lift on your KJ? from my understanding the RRO a arms are only for lifted kjs.

haha guess i missed that. If all else fails a wheel spacer should fix it

did you put spacers on all 4 wheels or just the fronts??

i would do all 4 so the stance looks nice

I ordered the spidertrax wheel spacers. They will be here tomorrow. That should solve the problem.

Yes,I have JBA 4.5,....thought I had a pic of inside of tire/ball joint,can not find it just now.

Mine don't rub either!
Must be RRO's crap!

And yes, I do run 1.25 inch spacers...
But I have never had a problem without wheel spacers.

I've got the RRO A-arms and NO issues here. Install, other than the driver's side rear bolt being a PITA, was a cinch. No rubbing or other issues. If the tire isn't perpendicular to the road surface after the lift, maybe the camber is way out and an alignment is in order.

I don't think we are getting all the info Ian!
I'm sure the RRO A arms are just as good as Al's...

I just don't have any respect for RRO after the way I was treated!

True that Ryan. I think we need some pics or a more detailed explanation of how the wheel sits on the hub in relation to the road surface/UCA/LCA. If there wasn't any rubbing before the install of the A-arms there shouldn't be any after either. The axis of the ball joint hasn't changed in relation to other parts.

As per the specs in my sig...
Without wheel spaces I did not have any
problems with rubbing issues with Al's A arms...
With the spacers fitted, the only issue I "May" have, is
ripping off one of the flares!
