I see people on here all the time talking about buying lockers, and I just wondered if only some KJ's come stock with them because my 05 Renegade has one and it's not aftermarket as far as I know...

That's Trac Lok.....

And to my knowledge, it's a limited slip, not a locker. I'm pretty sure that's the only LSD that came from the factory on KJ's.:)

you have trash ,I mean, track lock
not even worth mentioning
they have clutch packs and are worthless after 30-40K miles
it is a Limited slip ,very limited

Lockers are VERY different ,they never let a wheel spin
best locker's for the rear are
ARB if you want selectable
Detroit if you want auto
any thing else is a waste

I had the track lock in my TJ
then went to a power trax ,junk I broke 2 in a row
then went to a Detroit ,better road manners than the power trax when it worked
I have an ARB in the front ,if I need to use it then I know I am having fun
I fully plan to run a Detroit in the rear of the KJ

yeah that will be something for later...much later lol

I just want to get it in the air and looking better for right now lol

I don't have much time to wheel anyway, so yeah lol

I never said it was cheep ,did I
I am going through this with one of the other club members
he is just out of high school and has a TJ
we/he lifted it ,2" coil lift, and added some 31's now he wants a locker
problem is he has a dana 35 ,junk in stock form but will hold up fine to 31's under most conditions even locked
he wants to be able to wheel with us so he will need to do more than just toss a "lunch box locker" in there
he is going Super 35 with an Ox locker ,selectable but cable activated not available for the 8.25
his total cost after it is all said and done will be over $1600 and that is just for the rear if he does the front and rear he will be in the $2500 range
and still be running 31's ,he will have bomb proof diffs but small tires

Good book!
Mine has no more front or rear cover and notes written all throughout it.
Oh, and pages missing.

Jim Allen writes a section in ORA Magazine called Gear Head...pretty good section...:D
