ok I will be getting a Roady for my jeep and will be using a fm modulator along with an antenna adaptor. What would be a good place to splice in to the wiring for a power cord. I am looking at the PIE unit for the hardwire to a 12 v source just dont know what location has wires i could use. I do want the unit to shut off when the car is off. Can anyone help me?

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the xm power cord is a 6vdc converter, you cant chop off the plug and hard wire it like that! i nearly toasted my xm receiver doing that.

I went the radio shack route for my XM. Also got a ground loop isolater to get rid of alternator whine. It's all mounted behind the kickplate on the drivers side, used ~10' of electrical tape to attach the plug to the radio shack receptical.

Works nice, havent thought about it at all since installation.
