Window and regulator on '06 driver door

The window has come detached from the regulator, and as such, gets jammed in the window frame when running the window up. I am able to pull up on the front of the glass and Micky Mouse my way to closing the window.

I want to replace the assembly, but I find there are more then one choice and I'd rather step up the clearly poor design I have.

RockAuto keeps mentioning "Hole Style." I think this is what I have, but this seems to be a design flaw. The glue at the hole has broken allowing the window to pivot. Is there another style? They also list parts both before and after Feb 25. Are they interchangeable?

I have found more robust looking mechanisms like this one https://www.quadratec.com/p/crown-a...-power-window-regulator-liberty-kj-68059645AA. I assume I must also replace the glass?

Also, and maybe less important, I see mechanisms that push and pull on the cable from one end, vs ones that pull only from both ends.

Can I get recommendations. If I get the later style regulator, must I also get the later glass?

Does anyone have experience repairing the existing flawed design?

Can I do the junk yard thing from a '07 Liberty? Will it be the new design, and will it be more reliable?

Depending what part is broken, i’ve been able to repair all my windows on 2 kj’s with the cheapie nylon bits from ebay or amazon.

never did figure out what to use when the cable tube breaks, but the nylon bit is a 10 minute fix for me.

OMG, LibertyTC, that link to Steiger performance was a Godsend, thanks. It answered all my questions on the different types of attaching methods.

I have the "hole type" The single hole in the glass and the nub in the plastic. This design just looks week at best. I will be swapping to the "Ball Stud Style"

I LIKE this design. When my last original regulator dies...I'm getting this one. Thanks for the info.
