High-Lift jack.
2 shovels.
Tow straps and additional recovery gear.
Overnight/camping gear.
Additional engine oil and ****** fluid.
Rubber boots and Sorel winter boots.
Multi fuel stove/cook set.
Bungee cords and additional straps for lashing
gear to roof basket are all stored in 11 cubic foot
Thule roof box.

Behind the rear seats there is the tool box.
Bottle jack, jack stands.
Extra washer fluid.
Duffel bag with additional winter clothing.
2 rechargeable flash lights.
Hand held CB radio.
Electric "Flares" and illuminated safety triangles.
54 litre electric cooler with food.
Full 53 litre Dura Max Flo n' go gasoline container
Bottle of whiskey!

This equipment and supplies stays in the Jeep year round.
Jen and I are known to just up and leave in the morning
and spend a weekend on the road!

Full 53 litre Dura Max Flo n' go gasoline container

That's quite the list there Ryan! I have one of the 53L Dura Max containers as well... Mainly to keep a supply of gas on hand at home should I need it for any reason, including fueling my generator if necessary.

I wanted to ask if you've had any issues with leakage at all from that container?

As for what I carry since this thread has been resurrected, I have a hard-sided sort of storage "trunk" which I take when travelling which I found at a garage sale. It usually contains:

Recovery strap
hitch shackles and my smaller draw bar
spare fluids
jumper cables
various straps and bungees
tools
... misc other stuff

I will throw other things in as required depending on the trip - shovel, ax, etc...

I also have a Jeep duffle bag into which I put the contents of a fairly comprehensive store-bought auto emergency kit.

I also occasionally pack a 5 gallon Canadian military surplus jerry can. Didn't think of travelling with the 53L container, that would take some trunk space!

No leaks what so ever from the Dura Max container Dave.

I just bought an identical cargo basket and Thule roof rack from a church thrift store for $25.00.
I'll be installing it in front of the one already mounted with an additional Thule roof rack cross bar.
(This will also give me an area for the roof mounted lights I'll be adding.)
Come spring time I'll have a second Dura Max gas container and Both will then be mounted up on the
cargo basket, giving me 106 litres( 23.3 Canadian gallons/28 U.S. gallons)
of extra gas for extended back road journeys.
