Just like the title says.
What's all involved to replace a rack and pinion in a KJ?
The steering in our KJ is making a grinding and squeeking sound when dry steering and when driving at very low speed.
There is also a very audible clunk when taking corners.
The steering wheel doesn't return to centre at low speeds as well.
Ryan' figures the steering rack is on it's way out after 251000.0 KM.
He wants to replace the power steering hoses with stainless steel over braided lines and add a steering cooler.
How long does it take approximately to remove the worn rack and pinion and replace with a remanufactured unit?
Is it worth replacing the power steering pump while we're at it?
That way the whole steering system will be in top working order.
I look foreword to all your replies.
Ryan' been out of commission due to therapy on his spine and rib cage.
