Anyone know off hand what size allen wrench is needed for the plugs on the Transfer case, and the front and rear diff?

Since the last time i did it i seem to have misplaced my Allen Socket set. I know it will turn up, so i don't want to buy another spendy set, but a couple of the size needed would also be good spares, so i want to go buy the sizes i need and leave them in the KJ from now on.

What's the size though??

For Twain In Diana
rear diff gets its cover removed.
front diff uses a 3/8" ratchet extension to fill and i think an 8mm for drain

and again the 8mm for the xfer case ..

i THINK

I just did it 2 days ago, and I can't even remember what size, I am thinking it was
10mm transfer case
possibly 8mm front diff drain plug

not 6mm

3/8 ratchet square head front diff fill plug

at least I think

I just checked in my garage, and my 2005 used a 10mm for the fill plug. How do I know....it still has the old fill plug welded to it..:D

Ok, got busy but i finally made it back...

Looks like with all the info here and online...

3/8" drive for the fill on front diff
8mm for front diff drain
10mm for transfer case fill and drain

And yes the rear diff is cover removal, but it also has a fill plug on it thats an allen. I'm guessing 8-10mm for that as well.

This weekend i do the following...

Transfer case drain and fill.
Drain and fill both diffs.
New serpentine belt and tensioner.
And Monday it gets a transmission service as well.

All ready for winter then...

I applaud you for being so conscientious, but did you have to mention winter?! (blarg)

Bruce... Yeah Winter will be here soon enough.

As for the rear diff... I swear there was an allen plug, i will have to look today, hoping to get the transfer case and front diff done today, weather and not having a garage has slowed my progress.

I doubt its anything but the stock cover though, so it probably is a rubber plug..
