Hello Fellow Jeepers,

I am new to the forum but have been following it for some time. My change oil light recently came on in my 2008 Liberty just 1 month after an oil change. I looked underneath to see if it was a possible mistake on my part not putting something back on tight, however I could not see where the leak was coming from. I've posted some pics, if anyone can help that would be appreciated. To me it didn't look like any oil leak I've seen and there are no leaks at the drain bolt, the filter or anywhere from the manifold, it kinda looks like it's isolated to this one spot.

What is it? That's where the front cv halfshaft goes into the front differential.

What I'd do is wipe all that clean... spray it with break cleaner and get it cleaned up as good as you can. Then watch it... check it daily, two times a day if you have to... until you see where that fluid is coming from. Then you can better tell what needs replacing.

So you didn't say, did you check the oil level and where was it at? Low? I do hope you added enough to refill it as well. Just don't let it go too low while this is going on until you fix it.
