What is this part

Pulled the engine out of the 2005 jeep liberty today, get new on tomorrow, we stripped the old engine but the was a sensor rear passenger side just above oil pan. Not sure what it's for and part store does not know either.

anyone else know what it is has female plug in on it

Sounds like a oil pressure sensor but without pictures and pictures of the location it is hard to tell.

Isn't that the crank sensor?

Well there a oil pressure by oil filter.

They swell with time and are a bugger to remove. Just get a new Mopar one.

If you're getting a used engine the sensor should be the same.

Mopar sensors like the CKPS are the way to go.
Cheapo aftermarket stuff may cause you problems :icon_eek:..
