Was just under the 03 Renegade looking for split hoses to help get my p0442 emissions leak light off (what a journey)and found a hose that was pretty cracked out. So I changed it.
Doesn't look like it ties into the EVAP system though. The main body for this hose is attached to driver's side of the rear axle and the steel lines that come out go to the rear brakes. The hose I replaced was 3/16 and sort of rests on a bunch of other hoses and something that looks like a breather cap is on the end of it (It looks like whatever metal bracket held this in place has rusted out).
This has to be a no brainer for most of you, but I'm a diy'er learning as I go.
The location of the splits on this hose have me a little worried because I've had this axle submerged in water a few times for various reasons.

Just looking for some info, am I good just changing the hose or should I be looking for down the line problems?
Any chance that this would be related to my emissions leak? Didn't find any other problematic hoses...yet.
Hopefully these pictures post up....
Thanks for the help

I would change thr rear diff fluid if that breather hose fell down and was under water.

Thanks guys, pretty much what I suspected, the hose was pretty much broken off at the bottom, rear diff fluid was going to get changed soon anyways so I"ll just bump that up.

Still working on that emissions leak but it won't get the best of me.
