New tie rods on, aligned, and new rear shocks on. Wallet lighter.

The clunk in the back that I thought was the shocks is still there!

Looking at things again today I notice that the drivers upper control arm seems to have slipped inboard on the bushing sleeve. I didn’t know this could even happen! I will try to move it back with a pry bar. I don’t really want to replace the arm because the gas tank has to be dropped to get the bolt out. These arms are only 4 years old.

Here is the other side for comparison. This one hasn’t moved.

This may or may not be the source of the rear clunk over bumps. Hope I can quiet this thing down.
Rear clunk is most likely the wishbone. Also possibly the transfer case splines - grease them, and inspect joints too...

Regarding those arms - check and see if yours has had the recall done on the rear arms. They were known for breaking on G1 vehicles, apparently. The recall arms are a different design (where the original are like a 2x2 wall tube, the recall units are 2x4, oriented on the vertical axis.

Might be a good way to have Jeep do the work gratis.

Haven't done much to mine except drive it and swear at the - EDITED- AC for not working. Because brother, it's HOT out.

Took my pup to the vet for a checkup today. Was legitimately concerned for her health in the heat.

Put the spacers on my KJ last weekend. 1.5" spacers, of course I'm getting some rubbing. I'm starting to look at cutting the front bumper a bit, and removing the fender liners and doing some massaging with a hammer. Basically, the old pinch weld fold we used to do on XJs.

It's been raining a bit here. I have been taking it off road into construction sites and the like as much as possible, testing out the locker. It's ridiculous how well it works. I still need to rebuild and reinstall my front prop shaft, though. It's doing me no good in the cargo area with $150 of joints waiting to be installed..

There's a park around the corner I usually eat lunch at, sitting under a shade tree. To get to it requires traversing a ditch to get to the best spot. Last week I drove to it (bear in mind I'm 2wd, because the prop shaft is not in place), ass end steps out but both tires are biting. So it was basically not difficult to get to.. This was all just off idle.

So this dude in a jacked up F150 with half of the Aurozone chengadera aisle stuck to it comes up behind me as I was leaving, having watched me do it minutes before.... And got stuck. I just went about my business, grinning like a loon...

You are correct about all this, but OP said it was the UPPER control arms?

I replaced my fuel pump. Turns out I had it rotated about 30 degrees in the wrong direction when I replaced it 6 years ago. That, and it was a cheap napa pump so it was running lean. New pump in and it cleared my p0420 and p0430 codes as well. No more check engine light

Yes, sorry this is a KK. No upper boomerang.
Oops my bad … not like it’s right in your signature

That said, I’m not at all sure if the Kk ever had a recall on the rear control arms like the KJ did?

Not that I know of. These round ones are here because the original Mopar arms rusted through. They probably did need a recall!

You can try telling JScan you have an 08 when you’re plugged into your 07 and see what happens. The 02-07 model years aren’t supported but the 07 and 08 share all the same Powertrain electronics I think.
Got it somewhat working. I can't write anything to the ECU (wanted to see if I could change DRL. Does this thing have a gateway?), but I could access the ABS and Steering Column modules. I was able to read the steering angle (what I wanted in the first place).
Now I just need to figure out if those CANBus wires make it behind the radio, and how to decode the signal to send it to the head unit

The mail came today, and with it...my final solution to the defective parking brake

Brake Pedal Depressor Tool

Fits great, adjustable, locks down tight and stores nicely on the floor between the seat & door

This has got to be better than relying on a park pawl in a transmission with 190k miles on it

The rattle in the ball joints was no longer going away with grease, so I replaced the front UCA.
I started at 9am, but by the time I finished at 10am the temperature had risen to 35°C.
I only replaced one of them with a MOOG.
Like someone else here, I dropped the nut into the hole in the frame, so I used one from the sway bar mount instead.
The part number is the same.
I think I'll put a magnet in there to stop the nut rolling around.

will I or won't I, "fix" this clockspring out of the 65th.
found a magnet inside had fallen off the plastic bits it was attached to.
just finished letting it glue and sit for 24 hours, and reassembled it.
should get it back in the car in a day or 2.
then I need to decide do I "fix" it up enough to sell, or cut it up for mine and other people.

anyone want any parts? 2006 65th anniversary Liberty.

I've got the rattle can of clear coat to fix my hood and I never seem to get around to it
I'm not sure what my plan of attack is yet at this point. I think to do it right you'd need to sand all the clear on the hood and redo the whole hood. That sounds like a big job. It's "patina." It adds character, right? Or does that only count on squarebodies?

My main issue is its too hot in the summer to do and it's too cold in the winter to do and, where I live, spring and fall last about a week each.
